It is recommended to change air filters every 1-3 months, depending on factors such as pets, allergies, and the level of air pollution in your area.  Also dependent on the capabilities of your home furnace, different rating of air filters is available.  Using the wrong MERV rated filter can stifle the performance of your furnace and air quality.

UV purifiers are a great way to remove germs, bacteria, viruses, microbial growth and bad odors from your home.  Once installed they are cleaning your air for you all day every day, dropping the airborne pathogens using light, not chemicals.  UV purifiers are a low cost and low maintenance way of keeping you and your family healthy and safe from airborne diseases and bacteria.  Shopping for the correct model can be tricky.  Bulb cost and bulb life is key.  Thompson Duct installs UV lights on clean HVAC systems every day and they typically don't require any maintenance for years.

Every two years.  Much of the competitors in this industry would suggest a yearly cleaning.  We however suggest every 2 years.  This will insure you never have enough dust in your system to stifle performance from your HVAC system and makes sure you don't end up with any dreaded microbial growth in the ducts

Every year.  Dryer vents are the biggest fire hazard in most homes.  Cotton and fabric lint built up in an exhaust vent attached to a heat source is never a good combo.   Having a clogged of restricted dryer vent can make your dryer take longer to dry your clothes.  Sometimes it can take two or even three full drying cycles.   This also costs you way more money in energy cost.  Schedule your first cleaning with us and we can get you on an annual schedule that takes care of your dryer and home year after year.

Although our technicians are helpful, they are not furniture movers. Clearing furniture from on top of or around vents is key for us to be able to get to each one and clean them thoroughly.
